Materials


Wool brushes are made from soft absorbent Goat hair and can hold a lot of ink. Premium wool brushes are made from aged hair which has lost fat and become even more absorbent.  A good soft wool brush with a fat head holds a lot of ink, it is easy to use, durable and convenient for painting and calligraphy. It performs very well for painting flowers, leaves, water, animals, etc

Wool brush requires good control of wrist and strength. Therefore, it is more difficult than weasel hair brush for beginners to control.

  • I just wanted to say that I am so happy with my large Red Star “Pro Jing Zhua Yang Hao XL” wool brush!

    A tip that if you buy one, be very patient and diligent to remove the starch from the brush. It will take several hours of gentle removal from a brush that large.

    This Red Star wool brush is a great brush. I own one of these brushes that I purchased from Inkston about 2 months ago. I wish I owned the full set. (I have the #2 brush from the left in the supplied photo.) I primarily paint landscapes and this brush is great for that. I really like using this brush. It holds it’s tip well. And, it is what you’d call a wet brush as it holds either color or ink beautifully allowing you to fully exhaust your brush before reloading.. Inkston is also a wonderful company. They ship quickly and pack their product expertly to avoid damage in shipping. I highly recommend this company and these brushes.

This brush is of excellent quality: the tip point is clean and springy through varying pressures. Some wool brushes I have tried don’t seem to stay unified in quite this way and I am pleased with how this brush works cursive and semi-cursive. Holds a good amount of ink.   • Precioso pincel.muy absorbente y suave a su vez.viene muy encolado el pelo por lo que recomiendo dejar el pelo sumergido en agua tibia e ir enjuagando con cuidado hasta que diluya toda esa cola dura impregnada.a mi me costo toda una noche para que ablandara y luego lavar con poquito champu neutro y quedo con buen olor la verdad.tener cuidado de sumergir solo hasta un poco mas arriba de la mitad del pelo ,no vaya a mojarse el mango de madera.estoy contenta con la forma que tiene muy manejable y buena punta.esta bien hecho este pincel.la entega muy rapida y mucho antes de la prevista.gracias.
